Colavatis, the new name for marine filtration and fluid management specialist Westford Services, was announced at Seawork 2026, marking an important milestone in the company's continued commitment to supporting cleaner, more reliable maritime operations.
For many years, the longstanding Seawork exhibitor has worked alongside commercial marine operators to help protect critical engines and onboard systems through advanced filtration, fuel polishing and contamination control technologies. By improving the cleanliness of fuel, lubrication and hydraulic systems, these solutions help support equipment reliability, extend asset life and contribute to more efficient vessel operations.
Explaining why Seawork was the best place to introduce the company’s latest developments, Colavatis director, Charles Hansard explained, “I love Seawork; it's the only show I do every year. I'm part of the Workboat Association, so it's a bit of a family. I know all the faces and I come because I know I'm going to see dozens of people I know. It's very nice to see them and talk about what we're doing together as part of the same workboat industry.”
The introduction of the new name Colavatis reflects the company's long-term vision for the future of maritime engineering. The name itself was inspired by two principles that have always shaped the business: cleaner systems and forward-thinking engineering. Drawing on the Latin roots colare - to strain or filter - and vatis - a seer or one who looks ahead - the name reflects a belief that protecting today's assets and anticipating tomorrow's challenges go hand in hand.
Working with leading global technology partners, including MICFIL, CFORE and HYDROVAC, Colavatis continues to provide advanced filtration and fluid management technologies to the commercial marine sector.
Seawork 2026 was the chosen platform to introduce the new name to customers, partners and industry colleagues while reinforcing its commitment to helping operators improve operational efficiency, sustainability and long-term asset performance.
