The changing reality of workboat financing will be under the spotlight at the latest Get Set for Workboat 2050 series event, being held live in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, on 17 November 2026.
The session will bring together an experienced panel to examine the growing range of options available to operators, from traditional ownership to emerging leasing models.
It will also explore if these financial alternatives are supporting sector growth, reducing the financial burden on operators, and are keeping pace with the needs of the modern workboat industry.
From a venue in the Hilton Harrogate Majestic Hotel, the live, audience-led discussion will feature regular panellists Debbie Mason, Head of Content at Mercator Media, Seawork Exhibition Director Fay Reeve, Andy Page, Managing Director of Chartwell Marine, and CEO of the Workboat Association Kerrie Forster.
They will be joined by guest speaker Peter Curtis, the Customer Finance Director at workboat specialists Diverse Marine.
The November session will build on the ongoing series of Get Set for Workboat 2050 events, with the panel sharing practical experience, differing perspectives and current market insights before opening the discussion to questions from the audience.
This session forms part of the two-day Workboat Association AGM 2026 programme, though non-association members are welcome to attend. It will be recorded and available to view online the following day.
Each event in the Get Set for Workboat 2050 series focuses on the issues that matter most to commercial marine professionals, with speakers discussing topical challenges from decarbonisation and propulsion to operational efficiency, infrastructure, regulation and safety.
Next up, recruitment, skills and training will be in the spotlight at an In Conversation event in January 2027, the date to be confirmed.
The next Get Set for Workboat 2050 Live event will be in Rotterdam on 13 April 2027, and will examine port energy transition, future fuels, shore power, digitalisation and decarbonisation.
